Ross is the General Manager of Queensland Assets within the Walker Funeral Group. Ross has a bachelor’s degree is in Mechanical Engineering and has a vast amount of experience in Human Resource Management, having served as a Commissioned Officer in the British Army for 9 years.
The success he experienced as a Commissioned Officer, both in the UK and abroad, was largely down to building strong working relationships based on trust and mutual respect. Ross is a people-person with a high degree of emotional intelligence. He was responsible for the health and wellbeing of up to 230 soldiers and staff whilst stationed in the UK and whilst deployed in Southern Afghanistan. The operational demands of working in Southern Afghanistan provided an excellent opportunity to exercise adaptability and flexibility.
Ross manages the Queensland Group using the methodologies derived from the following qualifications: Association for Project Management APMP Qualification and PRINCE2® Combined Foundation and Practitioner. A huge component of Ross’s management style ensures that all staff are undertake Annual Training, covering a range of subjects. Ross is the custodian of the Groups Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Workplace Health and Safety Policies. SOPs are considered key to sustaining the organization’s effectiveness. As a Manager at various levels of the organization, Ross routinely delivers SOP’s to both large groups and individuals using a range of coaching styles
